Vulkem is the gold standard sealant in the commercial construction industry. We use it on the exterior of all Home Company homes to seal all of our siding. Make sure the builder you choose has a similar philosophy that creates minimal future maintenance for your home.
As a homeowner, it’s always a good practice to have a couple of tubes of Vulkem on hand. Use the “Limestone” color Vulkem to seal cracks in concrete to help keep them from expanding or deteriorating. Also, use it on siding and foundation walls because it’s paintable.
Vulkem is available at any home center, typically in the paint section. You will notice that it’s expensive! We use between 30 and 60 tubes of it on each Home Company Home.
